Violin Pitch Builder is a persistent village-building game for violinists.

Your musical work — recognizing pitches, reading notation, knowing the fingerboard — earns the Bank Notes that repair and build a persistent village, and the village keeps a persistent history of what you did.

AI decides how a musically valid challenge appears in the village. It does not decide what the correct pitch is. It does not decide what violin pedagogy ought to be. And it never listens to your recording and declares that you were sharp, flat, improved, or played the right note.

The human authors the musical truth and the learning rules. The player authors their history inside the village. AI writes the local scene that connects them.

The AI does not decide whether a learner's recorded violin note was correct, sharp, or flat — musical scoring comes only from verified, deterministic material, and the curriculum follows human-authored teaching rules. The AI's freedom lives in the story around the music, not in the music itself.

Why make pitch practice into a village?

Pitch recognition, fingerboard geography, notation, intervals, scales, keys, and arpeggios are the connective tissue of violin playing. They are also the part of practice most likely to collapse into disconnected drills.

A village gives those problems a reason to exist: a resident has a request, a building needs materials, a score needs to be understood, and a payment depends on a known musical answer.

Story cannot invent a musical answer just because the story needs one.

Does it listen to my violin and grade my intonation?

No. Violin Pitch Builder does not use learner recordings to decide whether a note was sharp, flat, correct, or improving.

Your recordings can still be meaningful. A recording can be saved, replayed, sent to a fictional character, returned weeks later as part of your history, or compared by you, by ear. What the app never does is treat your audio as machine pitch evidence.

When the app needs objective correctness, it asks you to answer: name the pitches, read the notation, identify the fingerboard location. Those answers are checked against known material, not against your playing.

Where does musical truth come from?

Every claim of objective musical correctness must come from verified material: canonical pitch material, verified notation, canonical violin locations, and the relationships — intervals, scales, keys — that follow from them.

The deterministic layer is the part of the system where the answer is fixed and checkable, not generated. If the evidence can't be verified, the activity is dropped or rebuilt. Internally, this is called failing closed: when truth can't be established, the system does less, not more.

Who decides what a learner studies next?

Not the AI — and not because the AI couldn't generate plausible material. Behind the village sits a human-authored curriculum: which relationships come first, which contrasts are taught together, when notation may enter, and when a concept is allowed to get a name.

Technical validity does not create pedagogical authority.

Not every wrong answer means the same thing

The system distinguishes what a miss actually proves before reacting to it. Miss an ordinary known-answer challenge and that exact challenge comes back next session. But Blind Notes are exceptionally difficult on purpose. Getting one right is interesting positive evidence. Missing one creates no ordinary remediation debt.

Can the AI make up facts about what happened?

A generated newspaper in the village can misremember what happened. Your actual Bank Note balance cannot.

Canonical reality includes verified musical answers, Bank Note transactions, Builder Company commitments, construction state, saved decisions, and accepted additions to the world. Generated interpretation includes newspapers, rumors, character memories, letters, posters, jokes, sketches. They interpret reality. They never overwrite it.

Generation proposes. History canonizes.

Secondary residents, stalls, scenery, temporary structures, and minor misunderstandings may be generated freely. But once a generated resident becomes important to your history, the established facts persist. The AI cannot regenerate them from scratch next week or quietly reset what happened between you.

Will my village actually feel like mine?

Personalization here is supposed to create history, not cosmetic variation: what you repaired, what you left broken, who you helped, what you ignored, which residents came to know you. AI personalization should change causal history, not merely adjectives.

What about generated images?

Generated imagery raises real questions for artists, and the design does not treat it as solved. Recurring visual identity is not a slot machine: important characters, buildings, marks, geography, Bank Notes, and physical building states keep stable authored assets.

Where generated images do appear, they belong to artifacts already interpretive inside the fiction — a newspaper illustration, a sketch, a poster, an advertisement, a postcard.

Canonical assets show what the village is. Generated images may show what someone in the village says, remembers, advertises, or misunderstands about it.

Is my creative playing graded?

No.

Knowing the right answer and making music are different things. In creative moments, you may reorder, repeat, omit, substitute, or abandon the supplied material entirely. The app does not grade those acts for taste, artistry, harmony, sophistication, expressiveness, intonation, or whether the AI thinks the music was good.

Does this replace a violin teacher?

No. Violin Pitch Builder carries a narrow, high-frequency slice of violin musicianship. It does not touch repertoire, technique, individualized physical instruction, interpretation, and broader development. A concept being technically available inside the app is not the same as being pedagogically appropriate for you.

Story serves learning — not the other way around

The village should be alive, but it is not a story-generation service. A world need can select among legal musical opportunities. It cannot make an illegal pedagogical step legal.

When the AI is uncertain, truth wins over completion

If completing a scene would require inventing evidence, contradicting history, fabricating a musical fact, analyzing learner pitch, bypassing the pedagogy, or falsifying a transaction, the scene gets simpler, stays unresolved, becomes non-scored, or ends.

An honest state matters more than a complete scene.

What this teaches me about the YY Method

Violin Pitch Builder draws one of the clearest boundaries in the project. AI gets broad freedom over execution: navigating a persistent world, varying context, connecting history, generating people, writing dialogue, and making yesterday matter tomorrow.

It gets no authority over the musical truth underneath those decisions.
